Coaches at nets
« on: January 12, 2020, 11:59:36 AM »

We're looking for a way to get a bit more out of our net sessions which are usually of varying quality. We are a small club and we've lost a number of senior guys who often did a bit of 'coaching'.

Given this, and a desire from people to improve and do something different with practice I wonder if anyone has any ideas we can pilfer!

Has anyone had any experience of bringing a coach to their nets or even abandoning traditional nets in favour of smaller groups (bowlers and batsman splitting perhaps) heading off to coaching sessions?

Recommendations for coaches in the West Midlands/Warwickshire area would be appreciated. Thanks.

Have a look at Complete cricket or Elite cricket coaching. 1st is based in Solihull and the other is more south birmingham/worcester way. I have experience with both as CC take the coaching at Barnt Green where my son plays and we have used Elite for 1 to 1 coaching, both very professional set ups.

Ben williams on Youtube has some good coaching videos and you might be able to gleam some ideas of his drills for nets also if you want to do it yourself.
