Well this is fun.

GM regular men's pads are the same size as GN large pads.

I bought a paid of 2018 legends and they were too small. I�m 6�2 but normal pads usually fit just fine.

I�ve always found GN pads to be massive in comparison to other pads, and the straps stupidly long. I�m 6ft and find the regular men�s GM pads to be perfick.

When did you last buy a pair, my 2015 legends were substantially bigger than the 2018 ones.

It feels like my life is basically searching for the right size pads!

GN small men’s are perfect (40.5cm) - but GM literally don’t make a size that fits (the gap between small men’s at 43cm and youths at 37.5cm is a joke at 2.2 inches - and the youths are proper flimsy narrow kids pads) and neither do kookaburra (42cm for youths!)

Some small brands do but very few disclose sizing details and the ones I've tried have ridiculously long straps (Phantom among them). As for Indian pads I consider these often but most only do men’s or youths size which I reckon is a complete lottery (could be a GM style difference).

Considering emailing SS or someone and ordering a custom run of unbranded top end pads! Would probably have to order about 20 sets but if it stopped me cycling through different brands it would be worth it!

I remember looking at some GN pads in a shop a few years back and they were ridiculously small.

I've found the same issues! Went to Romida today and the small GM pads were huge! I used to use GM 909 womens pads from a few years ago and they were perfect. They only do 606 in the xs, which is the old women's size. Recently bought a pair of Ayrtek small mens and they are perfect

I think the real issue is lack of standardisation and information. When one brands �youth� is as big as another brands regular mens, and sizing info is hard to find it is hard for the consumer to make an informed choice - particularly in these days of online shopping and product ranges too big for most physical retailers to stock fully.

Also means that some people are locked out of certain brands. I love the GM soft styling for example (or at least I did last year) - but no matter how much I want them I can�t get a pair that fits!

The pad size database on CBF is good for badgers like us but i feel the industry isn�t serving your average pro direct buyer very well. Then again maybe that sort of consumer doesn�t care!

You could have two people the exact same height, and one might need small men�s, and the other large men�s, solely due to the length of their leg between foot and knee. Rather than calling them small men�s, men�s etc they should sell them by measurement, say ankle bone to centre of kneecap, similar to how you buy trousers not only by waist measurement but also by inside leg length.

That would definitely be better!

In the meantime I've taken the plunge and ordered some SG Test pads in small mens from crown cricketer... Will be interested to see what arrives!
