Willow & Wand Bat Repair Service
« on: September 07, 2020, 08:55:52 PM »

I had previously posted some pictures of my GN F18 on the forum. It has been close to, if not the best performing bat I've owned. Sadly it was badly damaged by a mate in the nets. I tried fixing it myself and got a few games out of it, but it then split beyond repair. (Pictures below). Then Soulman contacted me and offered to try and fix it for me. I was very happy to let him have a go at trying to fix it, especially as it's such a good stick. Throughout the process he kept me informed of how the repair was going and sent a number of pictures also. This was just brilliant and I don't think you would get this from anyone else.

Soulman kindly gave me the option of which stickers to choose and number of grips. As you can see it's turned out well and he's done a fantastic job. The bat arrived back on Wednesday and I was as excited to open the package to see the results. Seriously impressed with the completed job, looks like a new blade apart from the obvious repair to the face. I tried it out on Sunday and scored my first fifty of the season, finishing 68 not out and hitting several 4's and 6's. So pleased to have it back and performing just as before. Fingers crossed I'll get at least another season out of it now. A massive thanks to Soulman for all his efforts and brilliant service. I've also attached some pictures from Sunday's game to show  the Willow & Wand stickers in action.

Glad your happy with it mate and was a lovely stick to work on. Never really knew how good that profile was in terms of the balance of that bat.

Glad it served you well and well done on the 50.

This is great to see! There is nothing like keeping your favourite bat.

Great job @SOULMAN1012

Quick note tho... I’m concerned how unmotivated midwicket looks in the pictures 😂

:D Yes, and that's their captain and star player! We got him for a second ball duck, having taken us apart the year before. Served him right though as he smashed his first ball to long on and turned down an easy single.  :D

No one seems to have mentioned that the biggest sin is the keeper appears to be wearing short sleeves

I failed to notice any of observation in the game pictures until they were pointed out, but I was wondering why the bat has that round compression mark on the toe, that was put there after the tape?  Looks like Soulman got it out though - nice job.

Did you dowel that, or is it just glued?

Thanks for the pics - always interesting to look at.

Dowled as well as glued. Two hardwood dowels have been used to give it some extra strength
