I really struggled to choose a captain (and still haven't). I don't want to be clouded by 2005 sentimentality, so I think I'll opt for Cook. Or Strauss in for Trescothick.

Thorpe was JUST before my time unfortunately, but his average is excellent.

I thought Bell's average was a little higher to be honest.

This is pretty straight forward for me - I'm a product of my time I'm in no doubt

1. Cook
2. Vaughan (c)
3. Trott
4. KP
5. Root
6. Stokes
7. Prior
8. Flintoff
9. Swann
10. Broad
11. Jimmy

Notable mentions to Tres, Ian Bell, Monty (lad could bowl) Moeen Ali, Strauss, Jones and Harmison, Hoggard. That's said England rarely lost with Curren or Bresnan in the side and Collingwood was just a hard man!

You have to have Vaughan as Skipper, who else would keep KP on track!

I may swap Stokes and Root round just to keep a lefties coming in with or after KP

I'm sure I've forgotten someone!!
