Knocking (How hard to hit?)
« on: November 25, 2020, 07:43:12 PM »

Hi all

I have seen several videos and have read a few threads here but i am struggling to find an answer to how hard you need to hit the mallet.

I have been knocking in my bat for a few hours now and I am not sure how hard i need to go (see videos below of the current intensity).

I am using a GN Deluxe mallet.

Picture from today (looks like indentations from previous pic have gone)

Need your input if i should be hitting the bat harder?

Also i used to think that indentations mean that the bat is knocked but it looks like the indentations i made previously are actually gone...

Start light, hit harder as you go. If the indentations are gone then that's probably a good sign that you've knocked in all the area around them.

Thanks guys - appreciate your comments. Do i need to go harder than what i am going in the video or is that reasonable amount of force? So essentially keep going at this force for a few hours and should be good?
