Interesting for me as I've been back and forward changing details on my pads which I think are important, although maybe minor and not on these.

 The cushioning material around the shin bolster and knee roll looks to be old school cotton, rather than mesh. Not sure how that will look after a long sweaty knock. Plus theres no padding behind the 'buckle', which I find better for comfort. Also difficult to see the padding on the straps, but sure it's there.

Just wondered if people were that fussy? Or is it just me...😆

I like the gloves though, my prefered style.

@jonny77 After using a set of pads with towelled straps, padding on the buckles and proper padding around the knee and instep, I am absolutely that fussy. Never considered it before but the difference once you've tried a set of pads that have a bit of attention to detail is ridiculous.

Good to know mate. Thought it was just me and I could have made life a lot easier the past few months!🤦‍♂️

If you're going to be sticking pads on for (hopefully) a long time and at least a couple of times a week through indoor nets and the full outdoor season, why would comfort not be a major factor in which pads to buy?

sounds like you are over thinking it. but thats ok, you have your own comfort you need to consider.

These are all things that I think are very important on the design of the pads.  I have used the GN legends for a few years now and it is this attention to detail that makes them such good pads.  They are not cheap but they are worth the  money.  What is frustrating is when you see products with top end prices that cut corners

From my point of view mate I've been working with a supplier for my own branded softs and have made a few changes to some detailing on them. So was just gauging if people were actually bothered by these details, or if was just visuals which sold the softs.

I genuinely like to hear people's thoughts, as if I'm expecting people to hopefully part with cash for things im selling, I'd want to ensure I'm delivering the right product, with the right features.

Im not having a pop at these or anyone else's products, just trying to tap onto resources on here to improve what I do that's all.

Fair enough mate, that's your opinion but I've got pretty specific reasons why I want those features on pads so I don't know that's its down to overthinkibg.

Towelled/padded straps - I like to train in shorts, I don't want any chafing or irritation from the straps.

Padding on the buckle - I tend to tighten my pad straps up just about as much as possible, I find the buckle pressing into my leg really irritating and uncomfortable.

Proper padding on the knee and instep - I've been hit in both places before that left huge bruises because I was using worn out, cheap club pads. For the sake of say thirty extra quid for a good set of pads, I think that's a pretty sound investment.

The shape (and thus fit) of pads is so much more important than padding on the inside of the buckles or any of the multitude of other stuff that weren’t problems until someone found the solution.
So many of them are just gunbarrel straight, which legs aren’t.
