Hybrid bat shapes
« on: March 13, 2022, 10:12:11 AM »

I was thinking about the best "non-standard" bat shapes around compared to the majority of modern profiles that are around at the moment.

One of my absolute favourites from yesteryear was the original GN Dynadrive shape - I had a 5* which at 2Lb 10oz was one of the biggest I had seen in terms of edges and middle in the late 1980's and had to have after saving up many months/years pocketmoney. Loved it for years then ended up in my parents garage and a waterleak put it to an early grave!

I still wish there was the option of that lovely shape - didn't much care for them odern interpretation from GN, the profile of the original was much better in my books.

I've seen the newer "beluga" profile which also looks very interesting (albeit without scoops), and the GN Xiphos came close to the original Dynadrive in a slightly more modern guide, but a love child between the original Dynadrive and "Beluga"?!? Might need counterbalanced handle, but would be something that maybe only the "parent" may find beuatiful, but the flat-track bully will love! :D

Any thooughts out there of old faves morphed into newer/modern shapes that people have a disre to see?

Any batmakers out there willing to try some gene-splicing variants?
