Right sorry for the wait guys but i had to find time to knock the bat in and then to use it and then time to write the review because the laptops broken, but anyway enough excuses and thanks to most of you who have been patient.
Right then,
First Impressions
When the bat got here i managed to pull myself outta bed and open the box, i got the bat out and the first things that i noticed was how nice the stickers looked, they really do look better in the flesh. i had a few swings with the bat and the pick up was awesome. Tom told me it was 2lbs 9oz but it picks up like 2lbs 5oz (no really, honest!). The bat is not very concaved and has a high middle, well not up near the handle but high compared to my M&H.
The Willow
From the pictures i had seen the willow looked good with a butterfly stain around the middle towards the edge. It has 7 widely spaced grains and for a Grade 3 willow bat looks very good. It has 38mm edges (no joke, its huge!) and a 50 pence piece is dwarfed on the edge. Once i had found the mallet i gave it a hit and was so suprised at how much ping the willow had it is emmense! and especially off the butterfly stain it flys!
Performance
I myself did not use the bat in a match but i used it in a 45 minute net session, once i had found the higher middle it flew (apart from off the toe, that stung!). because of its light pick up i was able to play some more delicate shots like guiding and glancing I was pulling and glancing with it nicely and nice playing drives off the middle.
When it came to the last match of the season i preferred to use my M&H as the higher middle was too hard to adjust too and i hit 19. My friend decided he wanted to have a whack with the Itias and wack he did, he had average 40 all season with a 100 is less than 14 overs! he normally batted at 5 but because this was a friendly he batted at 9 and only made 10 not out before the game finished. He finished the game and season well with a huge six straight off the middle! when he was walking of he said 'you have to buy it its absouloutly bloody awesome!' Here is a quote he just added over msn 'it was awsome i loved it' One negative though he played a cut of the toe and he said it stung, serves him right for not middling it!
I don't have any pictures yet but will get them up when i get a chance
