Gunn & Moore Kryos
« on: November 14, 2022, 02:36:39 PM »

Hi all,

There seems to be a fantastic buzz on the forum at the moment about the new GM range of bats, so I thought I would create a little break off topic to show off some photos of my Kryos bats that arrived this morning.

Before I get the images uploaded, I just wanted to give a shout out to Rob at @Six Sixes Cricket who I got both these bats through. The service was outstanding and I will definitely be looking to use Rob again for future bat purchases.

So, what did I actually purchase?

When I saw the images leaked online, the Kryos stickers resonated extremely well with me, so I thought I would treat myself to 2 models; a higher specification Kryos Original and then the extremely popular Signature model. I requested that both bats were approximately 2lb 8oz / 2lb 9oz.

Initial impressions on both bats are extremely positive. The stickers really pop and have an extremely classy look and feel. The weather in Bournemouth has resorted to cloud and drizzle, so I cannot get these outside in any natural light, but I hope the images I have posted below show off the bats well enough. There is a minor hint of blue in both bits of willow which I have no issue with.

The profile of the bats are nice and full with absolutely zero concaving. The duckbill style to certainly means that they have packed a decent amount of wood in the middle.

The pickup on both are great and to echo a comment someone made last night, the handles on these feel a lot thicker than last years models so this will only aid the pickup. The glove destroying HEX grip will be whipped off and replaced with a players style grip in the coming days but that is the only change I will be making.

Understandably, this is "first impressions" review but I have to say tapping up with an old ball is very pleasing. Both bats are pressed well and I don't think they will take too long to open up.

Fantastic and many thanks

Great stuff

Is there much performance difference between the two ?

Does the signature ping where that mark is ?

I am surprised the edges are smaller as average size is meant to be 35mm..

Do you think you will need to be on good wickets to use the Kryos ? Looks high middle and not much in bottom third ?

Thanks for uploading these great bats hope they bring lots of success .
