Hi all,
Following the arrival of 2 x Kryos bats earlier in the week, I thought I would get some images of the Brava that arrived today.
Admittedly, I wasn't particularly blown away when I saw the decals for the Brava bat, however, when I started to see some images of the profile and had a read up on the specifications of the bat, my opinion soon changed.
The bat that arrived today is the 606 model which I managed to pick up from the fantastic team at Cricket-Hockey in Downton, just outside of Salisbury. For those within driving distance, whilst it is a small shop, it is extremely well stocked and is very much worth the trip. Their website also has live stock updates so you can really get a feel of what they have there before attending.
Anyway, the bat....
As mentioned, this is the 606 model so I was not expecting a 15 grain pingy beast, however, I am extremely impressed with the amount of bat I have received for the price.
For those who read my Kryos review, its interesting that this bat also has some strong blue staining on the toe. I have absolutely zero issues with willow imperfections but interesting to see blue staining present on all 3 of the 2023 bats I have here now.
The stickers will certainly grow on me and I think the addition of a white grip will make the bat look extremely classy. For those who have ever brought from me before, my house is renowned for terrible lighting when it comes to photos, so I hope the images I have uploaded below are beneficial. I will be keen to see how the bat looks in natural light.
I will definitely be keeping my eye out over the Black Friday weekend to see if I can pick up an 808 or even an LE at a decent price as the profile on these bats are simply fantastic.
Specifications of the bat:
L555 blade
Weight: 2lb 8.6oz
Edge: 38mm
Shoulders: 15mm
Toe: 25mm
This bat does come with a thin chevron grip rather than the glove destroying HEX grips, but the handle still feels decent and the addition of a second grip will not be intrusive in the slightest.
Having a 2 year old baby in the house means that no mallet testing will be done tonight, but it seems to make a decent sound, albeit perhaps a little harder press.
In summary, for £125 all in, I cannot complain. Its a chunky bit of willow with some fantastic looking stickers. I have purchased 6 of the new GM bat covers to protect some of the GM collection that I have built up this winter. They are extremely well padded and compliment the bats well.
Enough of me waffling, enjoy the photos!
