One day cup or Hundred?
« on: August 09, 2023, 02:45:28 PM »

Been flicking between bits today and personally I must say I do prefer the 50over format not sure if that’s just because it feels like proper cricket to me vs hit and giggle but have been watching via streaming Prithvi Shaw with a glorious double hundred vs Somerset. Looks like a road so hoping to see a bit of James Rew who has some serious stats for the year but not a player iv seen anything of.

However I do like the fact the the Hundred is on Tv as just watched 15mins with my 5 year old daughter who was quite interested knowing I play didn’t know what to say when she asked “Dad why are you not on TV is it because your not very good” well actually darling yes it is lol

I much prefer watching the counties. But as you say, it is all about what is on TV... The cricket being on free to air TV is huge.

I don't mind the Hundred (apart from the Graphics) but I find it hard to really get behind a team. The nearest teams to me are the London ones or the Northern Super Charges if I go up North and see my brother. I end up watching a match just to see specific players, without really caring about the result. I don't ever sit and watch the whole game as I would if I was watching a 50 over match or ODI.

Anything that helps attract people to the game I'm all for but I just feel a bit dis-engaged with the Hundred.

I would care more if Surrey weren't completely decimated by it

Is it fair to say that all the real talent is playing the Hundred and RLOI has got second stringers playing?

What an innings from Swindells. After Leics being 19-4, and to come in under massive pressure at 8. What a great hundred
