Big Bash Season 2023/24
« on: December 15, 2023, 09:34:36 AM »

With the Christmas season approaching in the UK, means that the Australian cricket season is well underway. (BBL, Boxing Day Test etc.)

How do you rate the BBL as a tournament, in comparison with the Big Blast or even The Hundred. (Wont be fair to compare with the IPL).
I feel the T20 blast in the UK is on the decline.
Would be interesting to hear your views.

Cricket is decent standard. Our daughter was 3 months old this time last year so I had plenty of chance to catch a couple of overnight games when I was on nighttime duty.

My main issue, and this is the introverted English man coming through, is the commentary. Not every six is the most exciting thing I've ever seen, we don't need to shout about it.

Would happily have more cricket sponsored by KFC. BBL is usually pretty entertaining and it's nice to see a few of the England fringe players getting a crack in a top league.

It’s probably my favourite T20 tournament, lots of good English lads to watch, plenty of interesting spinners and massive boundaries that keep it from being a six fest. Also on at a nice time of day when working from home and catching up on emails 😬
