Removing the glue left from stickers
« on: March 16, 2010, 09:55:34 PM »

I stupidly applied some adidas stickers only to find I didn't want them. I then used the hairdryer to loosen them and take them off. Now I am just stuck with glue from where they were. Has anybody got any idea of how to remove all this glue?

Thanks in advance.

Yeah white spirit ftw, just don't use wood glue to stick them down if they're coming off lol. Hopefully Tom's 'awesome' sander has got rid of it ;)

i'll get you a link now mate. buy it from Travis Perkins if you have one near you .. if not B&Q or something like that. Open the bottle, get a Blue and white cloth thing and tip it on not to much. then rub over glue marks and use a toothbrush to remove. it will stain the bat for like a day but it will be fine after that. PLUS DONT USE AN ELECTRIC SANDER WHEN THE SPIRIT IS IN THE AIR AS IT WILL LIGHT lol :)

Think any White spirit will do the trick but I steer clear of it as not the best for the wood... Use a Stanley knife blade and scrape it off before sanding it down

Not if u keep it flat but then had entirely upto the person in question and how hands on they are I guess...I mean the actual blade not with it in the knife if u use it to scrape off the glue.

Prob not the best idea to put too much White spirit near the spice as may corrode the glue etc holding the handle in if u go too heavy with it. A light application only if u do use that option would be my advice!
