Morning of the game
« on: May 22, 2010, 10:35:04 AM »

interested to see what do you do on the morning of a game...

lets say the average person wakes up at 9 and sets off for their game at 12, thats 3 hours of time that is often wasted looking at the clock. i personally dont do an awful lot, except for try to keep busy and hope the time flies by.

3 hours is a hefty chunk of time and surely it would be advantageous to use it preparing for the game, how do you or would you use that time to make sure you personally are ready to play?

we were away today, meaning we had to leave at 10.30 :S

woke up 8.30, shower straight away. breakfast/tv for a while. packed bag for about 15 mins, by this time its about 9.45, ad to pop down town to pick something up, went to tesco to stock up on lucozade/other random crap for the 2 hour bus journey, pick up half of my team and take them to the club because they're to lazy to drive themselves! and by then its about 10.30!

dont have time to stop, doesnt help when you finish work at midnight the night before.......

Depends if you have a wife and two kids!( and wish I could awake ala the average 9am... 6am is my average) Time spent earning brownie points in the moring so the divorce papers arent served when you get back at 9pm and kids are bathed and asleep :-)

Get up about 8am.
8-9 just relax and have a light breakfast.
9-11 watch a little tv and prepare my kit.
11- match start @ 2pm. Net and train.

Sometimes throw in a swim at Bannatynes and a jacuzzi to relax.

This morning's pre-game involved:

Wake up
Have a hot bath to get some of yesterday's aches out
Wash the car
Go to the tip
Go to the hairdressers to get my mop buzzed off
Eat at about 11 to give it time to settle before start of play
Watch a bit of Something for the Weekend.

I wish I got that much! - I am not home in time to earn enough brownie points to net!! My Sat morning is a mad scramble trying to get all the chores done, whilst looking after the little monster, getting my stash ready, working out where I am supposed to be playing, remembering to eat enough (fielding for 50 overs on an empty stomach is a disaster) and ensuring Mrs Buzz is informed so she can come and watch later if the sun comes out!

On the morning of a game, I like to have a very large poo. I find it helps me to bowl better.

I tend to wake up at different times, a few slices of toast with marmite and a cup of tea is followed by the 3 S is. Watch a bit of Saturday kitchen and then off to the game, i try and have my done the night before as i hate messing around on the morning of the game.
