We had are last sunday league game 2day.. was a bit of joke really as we where playing a team full of 13-18 year olds

but still it was a good laugh



got made to retier at 60 as i was taking the piss a bit

dont knock teams that have pretty much only 13-18 year olds, thats what my sunday team usually comprises of and we kick ass!

1 proper adult (usually 24/25)
2 18 year olds
5 under 17's
3 under 15's

once played in a sunday team that comprised 2 adults and 9 colts under 16. We won by 8 wickets.

The colts did include 2 bucks under 15's, future England Scrum half Matt Dawson and the inventor of Hawk-Eye , Paul Hawkins. We weren't the worst set of under 16's!

everybody has to start some where

we have played for years with a team full of junoirs but we dont have that much coming through the junior ranks now so we are just a team made of what we have.

3-4 1st teams

rest 2nds and a few lads that dont get a game. its all about bring the young 1's into the game..

but when some of the teams are fielding all kids i do feel abit bad when we are carrying a strong team.

but if we didnt have the players we do we wouldnt even be in the league..

everybody had a bowl 2day even me and im the keeper and they managed 156 all out...

took us 20 overs to knock them off.

Our club is looking good!

We have three 18 yeard olds and two 16 year olds in our first team

We have two 16 year olds and three 14 year olds regularly in two's, with two 14 year olds in the wings if they cant!

We paly against some teams with guys who are all like 35+ who dont appear to have a good outlook for the future!

we used to be like that mate ive played in the 1st team since i was 14..

sadly tho when i was a kid are junior set up was very strong.. but its dropped off over the last 5 years as we have no under 13's or under 15's no more so we dont really have anybody.
all the players my age we all grew up playing 2gether through the 13/15/17#s and now we are all good players at around 20-25ish

im just hoping when we are the wrong side of 35 there are gonna be kids coming into the game still at are club

we have a lot of young kids now training but they are very young at about 10-12 ish so we wont be getting anybody through till a good 4-5 years.

because we are one of the few clubs in are league that have no money to spend on players we have to use what we have got and it has worked well in recent years but as for what the next 10 years are gonna bring im a bit worried

when you are kids you noticed the kids that are gonna do well in the game they stand out a mile. We used to play casstleford at under 15's and under 17's i group up at the same time as tim breson adn even when he was 15 he was steaks above the rest of us. used to be by far the quiest bowler when i was a kid.
