Bowed bats.
« on: August 20, 2010, 05:51:16 PM »

Just a quick question, seen many videos etc of bats being shaped etc etc but very little on how blades are bowed.

At what stage is the bat bowed to the desired amount?  Is this done whilst its being shaped, if so how is this done? Or is it done in the pressing stage?

Sorry if this has been brought up before and iv not found it.

Cheers

The 2 main methods are planing the bow either by hand as done in Asia or GM with their CNC or by pressing it. There are differing reasons to putting a bow in a bat so various results from the methods used.
