My New Laver Wood Heritage - Pics - Review
« on: June 12, 2008, 11:35:21 PM »

Ok guys as you all know i bought a Laver Wood Heritage.  So then here is my review.

James Laver:  James is a very understanding man!! He listened to everything i said. Now then i was picky I wanted a half inch longer blade with short handle in it but in harrow size!! lol  So since he is a great bloke he charged me the 265 for the harrow not 350 or so for the SSH which it actually was with my adjustments!!  He also made it heavier than a harrow at 2 pound 6. I mean he could easily have charged me more but he did not.

I would have to recogmend him to anybody who i know that plays cricket and every bat i buy from now on for matches will be a laver.

Ok then NOW THE BAT!!!

Initial Impressions:  As you all know i own 2 two pound 2 pumas stickered up as aero cricket.  Now i went to the post office and picked up my bat, I raced home and ripped open the box.  It was HUGE, my mate just got a 2 6 puma and mine dwarfed it!!  It looked clean shiny and beautiful.

Pickup:  The pickup is beyond fantastic, much lighter than my pumas!! In fact the pickup is a joke. I took it out the box and it is lighter than my Puma meaning no weight training to attempt to use it!!  There is no way a bat with such a low middle should pick up like it does!

Grains: The grains are the ONLY thing i have to "winge ;D" about with this bat: Not the best but who cares!!

Ping: Hitting it with a bat mallet is like hitting a weightlifter, the mallet comes back with interest.  Blocking the ball it comes off like a steamtrain and it is not even knocked  in yet!

Edges: The edges are 24 mm, not huge but i asked for smaller edges, i just dont like the look of huge deges.

Shape of Blade:  The shape is teh "Special" profile that I asked for.  It is concaved like you would not believe!  The blade has a very small bow in it and the bandle just feels so good with the blade as though it really works.  Looking down on the back of the bat it feels as though i could cut a small childs head off with how sharp the middle is!!

Overall presentation:  The bat looks brilliant out of the packet and picks up fantastic. The stickers look SO GOOD with the bat and is a cracker.

So Thank you James you have made a stunner of a bat.

He also chucked in extra grips and stickers.

Here are the pics

Great looking bat.

How much time did James take to deliver the bat from the date of placing the order?
