The match is tight, real tight.
The Wanderers are chasing around 230 in a 45 overs each match. They are cruising at none for 120 odd. There is a dismissal and the Wanderers retire one.
Then it goes pear shaped. There is a team hat trick, the second dismissal is a run out.
Then the wickets fall in quick succession.
So with around 40 to get and Bullet padded up as the last batsmen things start to get very serious. The old lag ex first grader has found form and stoked some lovely off drives for four. The visitors containing 7 Bermuda internationals and a the reminder of Dutch and English future stars roll the dice and bring back the super quick youngster.
The old lag misses the first one, big LBW shout the second ball, NO down leg, big shout next ball and the same reply. The next ball pitches off, moves slightly in hits the back pad then the bat and not a murmur. Strange this because the heat from the fielding side has been extreme. The batsman is out absolutely plumb LBW. No appeal no decision. The next ball is a big appeal but the pad is outside off. The next ball is left.
Picnic who has been bowling well from the other end asks about the ball that there was no appeal. Well Picnic is was plumb but no one appealed. Everyone one excpt the batsman and I thought it had hit the bat first. Wrong folks. The home team won with an over to spare.
Nothing wrong with a real appeal. folks.
