My Solitaire break,is this worth replacing?
« on: December 28, 2010, 11:41:55 PM »

Hello all CB Forum members, need some advice.I was refurbishing my Solitaire today and whilst removing the stickers i found two cracks coming from the bottom of the splice of the bat.Its where the handle starts in the blade. The front crack is about 1'5" long but the back one i say around 3-4" long.I have had this before as this is something i always do to my bats(the last 5 bats have broken like this).I spoke to Roger and he says carry on with it till it goes but i do not think its even worth trying. To be fair he not seen the damage and i have emailed these pics to him.
So what do you think??? Have a look and comments and advice appreciated :D

Sorry pics not great.
Cheers Lexx

I would have thought it would still be ok to use mate, if I were you I would put some bat tape over the areas for a bit of extra strength. The damage will get worse with time and will eventually split all the way down but I would have thought for the timebeing it could still be used without any effect to the performance.

I think its when i have hit the ball at the bottom of the bat and has forced the handle out the back of the bat.I done this a few times with other bats :(

Might be a good idea to put some super glue on them. Will help hold it together for longer. Repeat as necessary.

do you tap the floor hard with your bat in your stance?
