Is self amalgamating tape what can be used at base of the handle so you don't need to tape the bottom of the grip?

There is the branded stuff (Grip Grip) but generic self amalgamating tape will do the exact same job.

Mineral Turpentine (removes glue residue easily)
Heat gun (hairdryer doesn't cut it sometimes)
Popsicle sticks (very handy for applying shoe goo etc.)
Dowel rods (when reinforcing repairs by drilling holes and inserting the dowel with glue)
