The pitch was still a good batting track by all means, when he makes a big score on a bowlers track with a swinging and seaming ball then I might rate him, until then he will remain as a flat track bully. The opening partnership doesn't look too bad, Prior complements Bell rather well, but they need to change there style for in India, batting on Indian wickets requires a completely different gameplan to other parts of the world. However if they both aren't scoring runs you can't carry them, fighting for your place is the biggest kick up the backside any player can get. I'm still not convinced on Bell, 199 at Lords, "He's turned the corner" His run of scores since this 'corner' was turned would suggest he's gone the wrong way. Prior has the ability, he did all the hard work went away worked hard, scored runs, kept well and then when he gets his chance again, he changes his gameplan, I saw a couple of his tons for Sussex and it's a different Matt Prior you see at Hove, he tries to go out all guns blazing for England, pinch hitter or not it's all about choosing the right ball. Don't really rate the Indian attack, just need a couple of batsman to apply themselves and it's a different story alltogether. I mentioned in a previous topic about Swann, if your best spinner isn't playing in India, then where is he going to play?
