BAS Millenium
« on: June 13, 2010, 07:51:16 PM »

Hi I got a BAS Millenium from Asad of Uzi / AS Sports.
As some of you will know Asad answers all your questions and relieves most of the concerns i have about buying online.

The BAS i have now has really good pick up. It's dead weight is a little bit heavier than i had ordered, more two ten and a half than two nine and a half, but to be honest it picks up beautifully and does not feel heavy at all. I thought about taking off the stickers on the back and removing the toe guard, but the pick up os so good i dont think i will bother.

It has nine almost perfectly straight and pronounced grains, the edges very big at about 3 cm and it has a high spine with no concaving.

There is no two ways about it, it is a lot of bat for the weight.

I have used the bat twice now, once in a quick net and for the first time in a game yesterday.

Both time i have been very impressed with the performance. If you time the ball it will disappear, and even if you dont and you get just some wood on it the ball goes quicker and further than the average bear. The willow has a "soft" feel to it and weather being hit with a hammer or when hitting a ball there is that lovely resonance that you get from a good bat made form good willow.

i will put some pictures up when i can be arsed.

The millenium i am told is a bat made to Asad's spec and the top of his Range of BAS bats and everything about it suggests this to be correct. The willows feels soft and i would have thought that it will give quick and enjoyable ride rather than it being in my bag for too many seasons and i very much look forward to smearing cricket balls around the countryside.

The only problem with it is that you feel that you can make the boundary with every shot and i found i lost my shape a bit, but you can blame the bat for that. purely user error.

If you buy on line then Asad offers about as good a service as you could hope for. If you are curious or like Asian bats then he has a great supply of some very good bats.

If this was an "English" bats then i would imagine it would have cost an awful lot more. However for what i think is a fair price i have a bat that would grace most collections.

Keep up the good work!

A great review, you can't beat it when you get a really nice feeling bat especially when it plays so well so quick

We were charged more money for these bats due to willow quality.

We have just received our new shipment of BAS and all these were made by us selecting the willow before the bats were made and these will be available from our new shop in Swindon. one floor of the shop is fully dedicated to cricket and 2nd floor we'll provide other sports equipment(rugby, football, hockey, Netball etc) Plus customised club clothing(Cricket, Hockey, football, basically all sports)
will post pics of the shop once it is ready(launching 1st Feb)
Regards

Asad
