Hi Guys,

I don't know much about shoes whatsoever so I will be asking you guys. I don't even have proper cricket shoes, I just wear normal running shoes (facepalm) so I came across these ones (Nike Googly);

These are going for 50 Pounds at ProDirect and last years one are going for 40 Pounds at ProDirect.

So my question are these Nike shoes good or I should get some other? I have no clue but the only reason I came across these is because they look nice (LOL)

Also I play in Canada and we have matting so I am assuming these are the best as the steel studs ones are not allowed

to be honest mate, i wouldnt facepalm about the running shoes

depending on which ones they are i think that most people would use them

but the choices of specific cricket shoes is not the biggest, there is these nike ones, adidas version of their main spikes but with a trainer sole. and the asics shoes that you can change the spikes into blanks. the only three that look really good in my opinion. all depends on price i think

They are New Balance shoes and are pure running shoes. I have never worn cricket shoes but I do hear people saying you get better grip etc ?

I have no clue about shoes and right now I am just going after the look to be honest.

My budget I would say is around 50 Quids for a pair of shoes again I am not sure what should one pay etc

depending on how dry our grass pitches are i might wear running shoes myself. i am not sure about the grip factor, as it doesnt seem to affect me.

these are the adidas ones from last year. for �35 depending on your size. the asics are around �67 and the nikes you know the price. next seasons adidas are �58.

i cant see quality changing too much, i think its down to preference and price

maybe cheaper elsewhere or from someone on the forum

I always just used normal trainers on astro wickets, the only downside is the offer a little less protection if you get yorked on the toe than most spikes do.

Chipstick, I have used runnings shoes for 2 years and have had no problem but the problem is that those running shoes are finished, I mean I have had them for a while and they have been ripped from few places. They are basically on there last leg. I have another Adidas running shoes but those slip a lot so I can't use them.

Philip, where is that ? I mean if I buy this years from ProDirect will they give me free trainer along it ?

I'm not sure if ProDirect are participating in the promotion. I'll check and get back to you.

It is a free pair of trousers not trainers.

Please check and let me know which retailers are in this participation. Wouldn't it be possible if I buy from ProDirect and if they are not I show you the receipt and you send me the trousers separately ?

The scheme is set up for the retailers to run and it is up to them to choose if they want to participate or not. If we had to send out 10,000 pairs of trouser separately it would by administratively very complex.

I normally just wear asics running shoes when playing on an arterficial, they cost around the same as these, would it be worth getting the googlys over another pair of asics?

I only have 2 matches on mats this years but will be netting and coaching a bit, the orange would look awesome with the GM D3o gear I'm getting!
