You could say something constructive. Just a thought

No one like the forum police, but they do a job. As good a job as the mods do, it doesn't hurt to have extra eyes and ears around and that can be in the form of vigilant members.

To mwood, the best thing you can do is prove us wrong. Let your presence on the forum be a benefit, add to discussions, start well thought out topics, talk about your kit or an element of the game that interests or confuses you. Bumping two year old threads with single sentence replies is going to get you the attentions of the folks here because we care about the forum. The 50 post selling rule is there to stop people using the forum as a free version of ebay, but just because you get to 50 posts doesn't mean you should suddenly start selling loads of kit either. Play by the rules and people will respect you.

I think if you read rule 2 it explains it pretty well....

1. When selling items, it is a requirement that you post photo's of the item for sale when the topic is created.
2. To be eligible to sell an item, you must have made 50 good quality posts on the forum
3. Useless posts clogging up the forum will be deleted by administrators!
4. Anybody breaching these rules will have their post deleted without notice.
5. Answering "items wanted" via a PM is still allowed, but at the risk of the purchaser - if you are unsure about the legitimacy of an item, please post it on the board and seek advice from other members.
6. Repeated offenders will be banned at the administrators discresion.

I think most of us realise it, but for those that are confused; see the sales sections as a privilege which is earned by contributing to the forum. By making well thought out constructive posts, you earn the right to use the very useful and free sales section. If anyone tries to rush to 50 posts in order to sell, they have got the wrong idea about this place and as such should be shunned. It is a community, not a shop.

Ok lads, I'm genuinely sorry. I just wanted to shift my GM kit because of my deal. I didn't realise it would cause this much of an issue. It's great that you care about the forum, but as for earning your respect, that's going too far. I forgot about the 50 post rule and suddenly I need to earn back the forum's respect. Punishment doesn't fit the crime.

Then I'd suggest ebay. I can't see what 'punishment' you have received, except not being allowed to sell your gear on here for free without really contributing to the forum. Your reply isn't one from someone who really gets the point we are trying to make.

Thanks Procricket. Appreciating your empathy. I'll try and contribute more if that's the issue you're raising.
