SS Profiles
« on: March 06, 2011, 07:43:27 AM »

For Asad or owners of multiple SS Bats, what is the difference(s) in profile between; Gladiator, Plat Res & LE? I had previously incorrectly assumed all TON bats were the same profile. Thanks in advance.

PS seemed there were both Gladiator and LE in play by Sri Lankans last night (before the rain spoiled Australia's 32nd consecutive world cup victory :) )

Having been to the factory I'd struggle to tell any apart if all were blank. But it is a great profile, suits many games and seems to be a popular choice in the WC, although the money may have been a huge factor too.

I agree with Mike, no difference in the profiles or the middle position. I may add posibly no difference in the willow even. Whichever bat SS want to promote may get a slightly better looking willow - last year it was the Reserve and this year it is the Gladiator....

Unlike the UK based batmakers most Indian bat manufacturers would make a bats with very similar profiles to suit Inidan  (sub continent) wickets.

I thought there was a difference in Gladiator, LE and Special Reserve profile. I'll have a close look today.
If there was no difference in Willow Quality and Shape then it is bit silly to have different prices for 3 different bats

Regards

Asad

Hi Asad, did you get a chance to have a look? hard to tell from pics and also stickers can distort small images.

Not a huge amount of difference between the models profile wise.
