If someone makes a big deal about things they're making a rod for their own back, I think you would find Aussie sledges a more focussed on the players ability rather than anything else, but don't let that stop your anti-Australian posts Pete.

I personally think seldging has very few boundaries. Aussies are the most notorius but that doesnt mean other teams arent equally as bad if not worse. I, for one, wasnt being anti-australian as i am probably one of the most pro Australian person you have ever met as the experience i had when i traveled along the east cost was amazing.

The key thing to remember is sledging is only for the middle if it continues off the field then its a problem. Otherwise, if someone tries to have a go at me i just join in and sledge myself in such a that the other guy thinks whatever i say to him now i cant beat what he has just said to himself so they shut up.

Keepers by there very nature have big mouths so he would have a few comebacks saved up I'm sure

But if your good enough you don't need to sledge as the great micheal holding says I did not talk to the batsmen as I never needed to I let the ball do the talking and the batsmen do the walking

The first cricket box was used in 1874.  The first cricket helmet was introduced in 1974. So, it took 100 years for men to twig that their brains were also worth protecting.

No way the Australians would participate in Sexual vilification as they could find themselves in hot water back in Australia as this type of behavior is extremely frowned upon here in Australia.
Who cares what Steve Davies sexual preference is as long as he is a good sport and cricketer.

VERY very true. When iwas in brisbane the, church in the city center, 2 seconds walk from the ANZ square was packed with people standing outside on a Sunday. It was beautiful to see even though i am a Muslim :D

Either way, whether Aussies would sledge him is moot, Davies is about half as good as Prior and won't play international games, played a couplemof ODI's this summer and did panic, Prior is a jet and couldn't believe he was overlooked initially.

I understand how hard it is for him.  One of my best mates came out to me as the first person outside his family.  It wasn't a surprise to us though and likewise I suspect the same is true within his circle of acquaintances.
