Yeah I associate the Uzi as a higher middled bat so really like the profile on this one and my tt has offset edges seems to help as I'm sure it does on this one

No. 5 - Something Old.... Kippax Hydra SH, G1, weighing in at 2lb 14oz

This is a heavier Kippax Hydra from 2007. It's a chunky bat but not one with massive edges or concaving. When you hit the ball with it, it still goes. It's got a fairly low middle, as can be seen from the profile, and while not being spectacular, it's a very good and reliable bat, although against short stuff it's a bit tricky to find the middle.  Given its weight it picks up well. My suspicion is that it is an Eric Loxton, given the period in which is was produced, and the shape, but I don't really know, and I'd leave that up to some of you to determine.

One of the things I like about this era of Kippax bats is the stickers. All a bit Lord of the Rings...

No. 6 - Something New.... Hell 4 Leather 666 Monster, LHLB, Weighing in at 2lb10oz and originally made for Suliemann Benn

I've mentioned this beauty a number of times in various posts so I thought that it was time it appeared on the forum somewhere. I asked a question about LHLB bats a few months back, and Matt got in touch saying that he had one that was made to SBs specifications, but due to the wavy grain structure on the blade, wasn't considered good enough to go to SB for use and was being downgraded to 5*. Given its weight I wasn't expecting a massive bat, but it is much bigger than I expected.

It was obtained in the forum offer period and has an amazing pick up and with the very limited bashing it's had with a mallet, appears to have a large and effective middle. When I do get around to knocking it in, I look forward to getting it into a net and giving it a proper going over as my suspicion is that it may well rival my Instinct. We shall see.

The difference, of course, between me and the intended recipient is that I can bat and therefore will not be removing the stickers to save matt's blushes and replacing them with Reebok. The H4L ones are much classier and the brand deserves to be seen.
