Removing ball marks on scuff sheets/stickers
« on: April 13, 2011, 12:21:51 PM »

I was wondering how you remove ball marks from scuff sheets or stickers, as my solitaire has taken a bit of a battering and has lots of ball marks on the scuff sheet and I would like to have it clean again for the season.

I thought there was something about it on this forum, however I can't seem to find it with the search.

I got this tip from Graeme Smith. Use nail polish remover, cleans up nicely.

'Or pure acetone as it's the same thing and much cheaper.

I have tried both nail polish remover (acetone) and white spirit. They certainly make the scuff marks lighter, but I haven't been able to get rid off 'em completely.

likewise, I tried it earlier with white spirit and it made them lighter however most of them stayed on the scuff sheet. However they cleared off the stickers of the bat easily, must be a different surface etc.

As said, it really depends what the surface of the scuff sheet is like, the smoother it is the easier it should be 'in theory' to clean off.

You were right Matt there was a topic in which I asked the same question.
I got a bottle of Acetone (£1.15 for about 50ml) from my Chemist. Worked a treat, it stinks like (No Swearing Please) though so wear a mask or do it outside.
Very cheap and great quality if you like your bats looking uber-sharp. However sometimes all those cherries show you've scored loads of runs ;)

Yup, use it outside if possible and store it in a garage or something as it can auto-ignite at temps of above -20.
