The grey area
« on: June 07, 2012, 10:41:13 AM »

On my left (non-dominant) hand, when catching a ball above shoulder height. Reverse-cup, the ball seems to often hit the bony part just below my left index finger, does anyone else habe this problem? and how would you go about solving it?

I am a seasoned keeper, with good technique, so am I just catching it poorly?

Yeah, exactly what I was thinking, so I just need some more padding, but not sure where to get it from

i dont understand what you mean reverse cup and hurting your hand under your index finger? Are you overlapping your hands or something?

I keep wicket and only ever feel pain when i get one on the end of the finger, probably 2 or 3 times a season.

hands slightly overlap, I'm pretty sure its a padding issue

i know what you mean, i dont catch it like that over my shoulder i just push my hands together and open out my thumb and first finger and it doesnt seem to hurt  ..............unless i dont keep wicket and do it without gloves on ......... which i did and got one straight on the forehead!

You could get those aero keepers inners which have extra padding in that area
