Indoor Cricket good for sharpening up Wicket Keeping
« on: August 18, 2012, 11:32:17 PM »

Play loads of indoor 8-a side cricket during the off season and winter and found it great for sharpening up wicket keeping. Really noticed the benefit of it this season.

You have to stand up to everyone as only around a metre between the stumps and back netting for the keeper, so really gives lots of practice and sharpness for standing up during the season. Plus since the game really depends on sharp fielding, it gets you a lot slicker with stumpings and also throwing as you often end up running batsmen out at the non-strikers end with very quick throws to that end.

Really recommend it if you get a chance to play in one of those indoor leagues.

Can be, need to make sure you don't get too used to the perfect bouncy tracks though before going out on the early season slow, low green tops!

Yep, playing on some of the tracks we've played on after the crappy weather this bring that home! Kept on another pudding yesterday!
