CD, I really hope you don't take the advice in the wrong way. Six months ago my reply would have been quite different, but quite frankly, I have now seen through the BS and mystique that is associated with bat making.

Choose a bat, if it works for you, stick with it. Simple. 

And please, only one pair of pads per innings. The opposition may become a little annoyed if you call for a change of pads every 5 overs

Hahah no in games it is only one thing, I never ever change anything in the game be it bat, pads or even gloves.

To be honest I played 3 games and rest were washed out and in those games I just used Puma Iridium's (twice 3000 and once 6000 model)

The thought of this thread was in my mind for months, I last played with my MB LE in March (first week) and naturally I was slogging but as soon in next week nets I changed to a different bat (Icon LE) I was in different playing mode altogether

Just be the player you want to be, whether it be slogger or top order stalwart.

Decide which player you are, then choose a bat that suits. Hell, if you do well with a cheaper one, stick with it. No shame in it. A bat that works for you is the bat you want to use, regardless of grade or cost.

The best bat I rate in my collection is a 3 Star that is because I got full use of the bat hence I know the bat inside out shame I can't get that shape again.

I don't like slogging I want to be a proper batsman on which I'm working its more fun playing a straight drive for four than a slog sweep six

Used someone else's GM Icon 808 today. Batted 'sensibly' and it payed off. Maybe I should protect my bat by not smashing everything lol
