I do think the Aussies are finished as wrld no.1 they will be in the top 4 but will struggle against the likes of S.A. India and England.
I was listening to ABC radio during the Sydney Test and Kerry O'Keefe mentioned that at state level Nathan Hauritz is no.13 wicket taker all the top 12 are fast men then the next spinner comes in at no.38 that is poor form, the aussies need an attacking spinner like Jason Krezja, but the selectors are going to pick him for whatever reason they seem to come up with.
Also in the pace department why is Mitchell Johnson coming on as first change? The aussies cannot take 20 wickets with their current bowling lineup at home let alone anywhere else.
And their batting? Pitch a ball on a good length outside off and Ponting cant help but have a poke.
Hussey's average dived by 20 this year.
Symonds has Issues
Hayden is getting old
Haddin scored well against a piss weak NZ team
Clarke scores heavily when the team is going to lose anyway
And who knew the great Aussie fielding could deteriorate to such an extent?
Haddin expects slips to catch balls that are less then an arms lenght away.
Im not saying that they are going to struggle against Bangladesh or Zimbabwe but they will struggle to keep up with the top 4 eventually.
They need to get some young blood out there as early as possible not hang on to Matty Hayden he is a great batsmen but past his time or Australia will never get a solid team if they are going through a new bowling attack every game.
