Which bat is bigger and better?- Uzi or b52
« on: November 08, 2009, 08:18:46 PM »

I was wondering if you have a harrow:

The uzi would be the normal 1 inch shorter thing, weight of 2.7
The b52 would be the harrow shaped 2.7 normal blade

Which one would be the bigger one? And.. Which one would you say is better in your opinion(sweet spot and performence wise)?

Thanks

Uzi will usually be larger due to the shorter blade.

Sighhhhhh,
There could be many factors that could differ, cleft weight, grade. The uzi should be "bigger" if they were the same deadweight cause of the shorter handle=Weight from there gets left on the blade ? And all bats have diffrent ping, i had a 20 grained salix when i was younger (on the floor in the garden somewhere) and it was poor, and now i have a 7 grain bas which is my little magnum !

If im wrong other senior members, please correct me !

I went to romida in leatherhead  yesterday to pick my bat up. They had 3 uzi's which were the biggest bats I've ever seen. Their edges must have been at least 60mm. I'm not exaggerating. However there was hardly any spine height. It was basically 60mm across the whole of the bat. Had a tap with a mallet and the whole bat (spice downwards) was virtually the middle.

They were 2lb 11oz and 2lb 12oz. I use a 2lb 9oz ss matrix and their pick up was virtually the same. If I hadnt got my bat rehandles I would have considered buying one of the 3 uzi's.

Nice to see some lower weights b52's come on the market aswell. I guess there was a demand for them

I had an Uzi a while back and i really didn't like it. Im not saying it was a poor bat but maybe it just didn't suit me or my style. It may have been the carbon handle but it just didn't feel right.

I have used many Newbery bats and up until the Uzi i loved them, but as with anything, a bad experience can put you off. So decided to switch batmaker.
