Bertha, meet Dyna, your progenitor...
« on: July 12, 2011, 09:51:57 PM »

Going back a number of months, I acquired the famed Bertha-drive from Andy. She hasn't had a lot of use, except for a few nets, but then I've knackered myself, so that's only fair I guess.

Having recently acquired the Dynadrive, I thought it might be of interest to those of you who remember her to see what she looks like against her progenitor.

Having not used Dyna yet, I can't conclusively draw any opinions, but from my use of Bertha and looking at the pictures, her middle is slightly higher than Dyna, while Bertha has a slightly different back profile. Both of them are lovely bats, and I have to admit to a soft spot for Twin or even quad scoops.

Anyway, enjoy the pics of an old forum favourite and a golden oldie!

Was Bertha done as a copy, or just "from memory"

Maybe he should...I like his new design, just don't like seeing the splice on bats

If memory serves me right, Bertha is a bit of a mix of the SS Jumbo profile and the Dynadrive. From what I remember, he had a Harrow Dynadrive to base that part of the design on.

Tim, I can't believe that duvet cover hasn't been ironed... it really takes away from the bats ;)
