Grade One Willow - Knots On The Face
« on: February 18, 2012, 05:46:53 PM »

Simple question really - have just bought a G1 bat (what I guess would be called G1+ really, top of the range) and find that when it arrives the face has an admittedly small but very obvious knot on one side.  Have never seen this before with any G1 bat - should I be concerned?

G1 GM bats often have slight marks on 909 and original bats.

We sometime get a bit greedy, may also depend if graded on performance or looks?

Hi Mate,

Some bats are graded on the looks and some batmakers grade them on how the willow plays.

eg: If my information is correct Robert Pack Blueroom, Heritage cricket, Laver and Wood (Ultra) etc grades their bats not just on looks but also based on how the willow plays, "ping" etc...

What bat have you got? Any pictures this may help.

Thanks
