Erm, you should let the oil dry before you start knocking in...

Lol, Yeah I know that, just meaning that it will give it even more time.

Yeah--give it sometime so that the oil dries up and then start knocking it in. The scuff sheet will stick to the blade irrespective of when you apply it. But ensuring that the oil has soaked in properly will reduce the chances of hurting your grains when you decide to take the sheet off after a lot of use. Have fun with your new bat; which one is it by the way?

Not necessarily, if the oil is still fresh, then the scuff sheet won't take as well to the blade compared to a week or 2 later.

I got a KD Grandes Players from Keith Dugeon sport (KD). Was out of that and a M&H Harlequin (they are the only store to stock m&h that I have seen in Australia), the KD bat felt like it had a longer middle, while the Harleqin handle felt better, but the KD one is still good quality and is a mix of rubber and cork I believe. The face is pretty flat and the edges are pretty square, combined with a relatively square toe, the bat looks almost square, but will look better once I round the edges off. I was offered a discount on KD gear by Keith, so that swayed it easily to KD as I saved $160 on the bat plus saved $45 on some gloves.
