Yes, i thought i would need handles! I dont know how much they are complete though, want sure if thsi was a decent price?

Seems a good price, Don't know to much about tools but would think one that comes with handles would be about 30-40 pounds? I think the guy sells handles also so you might be in luck. I would get more opinions on board first before you buy it as I don't know to much about tools. But it looks like it would do con-caving

Google g m tools . They have various no. Travishers at about 40 quid

I've got a couple and they work well

Get a Kunz No. 50 spokeshave. Works a treat for concaving and is only £20 odd off ebay, it's what I did my bat with:

I bought a No.3 travisher from G&M which is a nice tool but difficult to use (difficult for me anyway!) I think any steeper than No.3 might be too much. I just made a concaving tool out of an old coffin plane like somone else on the forum did. I've test fired it on pine and it looks like it's worked. Travishers are the right shape but as I understand it they are more for shaving across the grain. Chair makers seems to use them for making those little dents for your bum to nestle into!

Must admit ive never had issues with my travishers. think i have a 2 and a 5. ive also got a couple of tiny round bottom planes. travishers good to remove large areas quickly but i use the tiny round planes for final shaping/adjustments.

never tried using a concave spokeshave before.

Thought it was you, Fletch! Hopefully picking up a couple of handled clefts from H4L in a couple of weeks after test firing my prototype tonight at first club nets of the year. Really happy with the results and can't wait to get my hands on more willow!
