SS Silver Edition
« on: April 11, 2012, 09:46:55 PM »

New bat arrived today after I ordered it on Monday to replace my Kookaburra Blade (pictured) that cracked at nets last week.

Details;

Make: SS
Model: Silver Edition
Size: Long Blade
Weight: 2.10 (not weighed since receiving but that is what I asked for)

Purchased from VKS through their website, but dealt with a guy called Vinay who was very helpful, arranging for photo's to be taken of potential bats despite him being over in India for the weekend and it being a bank holiday. Overall I felt the service was very good and would have no issues purchasing from then again.

The bat itself looks and feels lovely, can't wait to give it a go once given it a bit of oiling and knocking in. I will post an update once i've had a few hits with it.

The one thing I was disappointed with was they (VKS not SS) appear to apply a quite unaesthetic sticker to the back of the bat near the toe. I have removed this but it has left quite a thick, sticky residue which you may be able to see from the pictures, any ideas on how best to get rid of this would be appreciated.

Included in the pictures is an SS Ton LE which i removed the stickers from and the broken Kookaburra Blade Razer (2008 I think).

Here are the pics;

Nice bat - the grime can be removed using white spirit and a cloth

I reckon you could probably get that crack fixed.

Indeed - white spirit and a thick piece of cotton (a woman's T shirt is often best) so that the fibres don't split.  Don't use too much spirit tho!
