Took a trip to morrants
« on: March 11, 2012, 07:56:04 PM »

I persuaded the Mrs to let me go to Morrants today for their ''1 day sale''.
I could have spent hours in there, but the place was rammed and only spent 30 minutes in there.
I haven't been to Morrants since they moves from their old place many moons ago and i was very impressed. Ok, it wasn't the biggest of places, but had everything from your usual G&M, GN, Kook, Salix and Bradbury (all models) to some unbranded bats. I was impressed with their own range of Dukes and Morrant bats, alot of different profiles, some with grains that would get some of you hot in the under-cracker department.
I just wish i had a wallet full of cash, but as alot of people may know, money is tight.
I did only purchase 2 items. I said to myself i will only get stuff i am in need of.

Purchase 1.

I bought these as a couple of lads used these pads last year and was told they were great. they fit good on the legs and have nice movement when i did some walking in them ( i do not run for no one). They have great protection throughout and at only £20 i thought they were a bargain.

Purchase 2.

I use a duffle style bag for the last year, and did find myself stuffing whites, spikes and towel into the bag and having to sift through for my gear. So i bought this extra M&H luggage bag. It is a decent size with 2 pockets at the ends and hopefully giving me more rooms for gear. This purchase was £13, again, i thought this was not too bad.

I have only 1 moan about Morrants shop.

I wanted to try on some Helmets, but there was none on display. I had to ask at the till if they had any in what so ever, and was told to see the people in the stock room. Having asked a question to Tom, it was suggested that it should be deflated and should fit, and i was wondering if it would. I asked the lads in the back room if they had any Ayrtek lids in stock, they brought me out a specimen. Loved the look of it, but behold, My rather large cranium was TOOO LARGE for it  >:(

Don't let the Helmet scenario put you off. The place is a goldmine for all you willow lovers.

Only enough room in the shop for 1 fat head, let alone 2 mate  :D

Was only a last minute thing as i was forced to go out for a sunny sunday afternoon dinner with the monster in-laws, so i had to have an agreement with the Mrs for me to go along with her to meet them.
