Now there is a lot of research done on bats, helmets etc but what in your opinion is the gear that has been overlooked and has room to improve? We are not questioning the quality of products or skill of the maker but design.

To start off:
I think kit bags are extremely poor in design/ i.e have a lot of room to improve. It has been the same old design, mostly, with some pockets added on. I have a concept in mind and will share once it looks decent enough.

I have previously looked at gloves, pads, kit bags and obviously the helmets to improve the designs of them.....so far none have gone too badly!

Yeah I think there is a lot of innovation in Bats / Helmets.

Pads & gloves have evolved in design/shape & Materials.

Thigh/Chest/Arm guard have seen some progress...

Grips have evolved, how to apply a grip have evolved (not successfully) but mostly still old fashioned...

Abdo guards are pretty much the same design...

Shoes have improved

So what else has room to improve...

Batting inners, the fingerless kind are a bit rubbish and get knackered quickly. Gray nicolls have a players version which has a Velcro fastening like a golf glove but not sure if they're any good.

Some sort of inner made from the same material as compression tops might be good.

On helmets a different design for the grille would be good, just in terms of being able to take it off and put back on easier to make it better for storage in your bag.

I've seen a different style of leather for gloves, could work if married to better protection in light materials.
