Hrmm... look under your bed and in the wardrobe *snigger*
Just try and remember the feeling of how it feels when your bowling well with your perfect action.

never heard of this happening to anyone but my advive is get a bag of balls and just bowl and bowl and bowl for as long as it takes to find something that works for you, even try watching other bowlers bowl and replicate that see if it suits you?

I would consider it a fresh start, happened me as a spinner a few seasons ago, even though I don't usually bowl spin, losing the action actually has made me a better spinner, a chance to cut out old habits!

I lost and just found that by just slowing it down and practicing, focusing on what I was doing, making sure everything was going as it should and just go trhough this for a bit and then once you know you're doing everything as you should just bowl and bowl and eventually it will click again. You find it as randomly as you lost it.

Chaim, I though you kept wicket?

I can't bowl anymore due to a shoulder injury, but when I did, I'm sure I used to pretty much re-invent my action every year. It's just a case of geting in the nets and working hard until you find something that works.

For any fast bowlers...........

I bowl pace but I had the same problem I have 2 actions and everytime I owuld bowl crap in a game I would change it to the other one the next game, but this just makes it harder to further your game, if you cant get the action right good luck learning variations in your bowling, use what has the best rythm and you feel comfortable if you find yourself bowling crap dont change your action (unless it is more then just a form slump) ust stick to your guns and you will be ok bowl with a clear head. When you are out of form you will most likely think too far ahead and experiment too much and everthying will go haywire. Good Luck.

The anticipation of him emerging from the pavilion, and his walk from the boundary to the centre, is almost surreal. The sound of a passionate Indian crowd all chanting "Sachin, Sachin" as they wait in anticipation, followed by the enormous roar when he emerges onto the field, is electrifying.

Lost mine when I was 15 - broke my toe and was out for a few weeks, during which period I grew a fair bit.  When I came back I just didn't have any rhythm, and couldn't land it where I wanted to.

I never got back to the bowler that i was before the injury - I liken it to a golfer getting the 'yips'.

Ended up going from a spinner who batted to an opening bat who occasionally trundles in.

This happened to me last year, completely forgot how to bowl after some dodgy coaching from coaches about my back leg ( i bowl legspin btw) and front arm, even though i was taking wicketes for fun. So i toyed around with a few actions, and as ive grown around 6 inches in the last year and gained some muscle through work at the gym, found an action that suited me perfecly. Now my batting has come on loads and i can be classified as an allrounder!

I lost mine as a left arm spinner.... Never got it bk but same thing happened to my dad and he got through it.... I will ask him when i get bk from holiday!  They used to call it the yips.... For me it felt like i couldnt release the ball.... I read somewhere that its pyschological and to do with thinking about something that the brain should be doing naturally.  Not sure if thats right but it made interesting reading at the time.

If everything goes to plan one of the world's top coaches with Australian state side and international coaching experience will be a contributor to this site in the not too distant future.

Sounds good art will be good to get a word or two from an experienced coach who knows what he is actually talking about.
