Bat with perimeter weighting.
« on: May 25, 2012, 05:20:54 PM »

Hi guys,

I've not played for nearly 15 years and have recently picked up the willow again to play for a local club team. So much has changed!

Joined the forum a few weeks ago and I've been searching through alot of the older post's trying to find a relevant thread with no luck. So here it goes.

I'm 6'3" and tend to play more on the back foot. After a few e-mail's, GM's bat selector and some great advice from watsontotty it became clear a perimeter weighted bat would suit me down to the ground. Nearly wrote the cheque for a GN Scoop when I come across this forum! The rest is history, no GN!

Looking through the sponsors inventory I couldn't find a similar bat, please can someone point me in the right direction.

Cheers

Bobby

I am not sure you will find a bat like the GN100 anywhere.

you will be able to get the bat of your dreams from a sponsor.

I am thinking mid middle, long blade, and a large forgiving middle...

some makers offer to copy any shape bat however that comes at a cost so i guess you need to decide how much you want to spend ? had i not played for 15 years i would doubt id be looking to spend much over £140 for a bat hence the scoop is a decent starter and i picked up a nice one.

Did you go for the new version or an original scoop?

I'm going to play out this season with the clubs newbie bats and spend a little extra ready for next season.

I was very impressed with my new version. Now being used to great effect by one of our colts. I think they are great, and well worth a look at.

How light is the pick up on the 2012?

I like the look of the Scoop, retro just like me!

Scoop 1st then H4L on the wish list.

Whats the going rate for a kidney?

How does someone come to the conclusion that a perimeter weighted bat would suit you... I can image how!!!

Good luck with the bat I'm sure you'll find something great on here...
