Bit the bullet and decided to buy a new bat last week. As I live in Swindon and discovered Uzi Sports half a year ago, I thought 'why not support a local business and buy from there'.
Asad spent some time with me the week before going through all the bats, and was taken by the quality of the bats he has in stock. So, went back on Friday morning and spent 90minute sin the company of Uzi. We went through, again, every bat in the ighter weight category, hitting them with a mallet, swinding them about, etc etc.
Well, I finally went for the Kookaburra blade 500 2lb 8oz as opposed to the Kahuna in the same price and weight range.
I'll put a picture of the bat up when i get back home as I realise it would be rude not to.
although I could have got the bat a little cheaper elsewhere, I personally thought the level of customer service was considerably worth the extra. Uzi did say his Dad picks out the bats in person, and when you go to his shop and look at them, you realise it is probably the case.
I read all the reviews on here re Uzi Sports, and was surprised not to find at least one negative comment (in this day and age). so thanks Custom Bats Forum for also helping me choose a lovely bit of willow.
cheers Uzi for your time and patience. It's a cracking looking bat. i just hope I can do the bat justice.
