SAF REFURB - I'll let the pics do the talking...
« on: April 13, 2012, 03:04:38 PM »

After!

Top notch service from SAF.

I scored quite a few runs with this Vantage last season, and has been one of my fav. bats.  I forgot what a nice shape it is!

Great to see it back to life and will be using again this year alongside about four other bats!

Thanks Marcus/Andy, couldn't recommend them highly enough.

I think we should do a test - collect 10-15 smashed/firewood bats and send one to each bat maker and see which one does the best refurb.

Top job! Was there a noticeable difference in weight before/after the refurb?

Thats a bloody good job. Ive had 2 bats come back from a refurb and it feels like they need knocking in again.
Could it be that after a refurb  and plenty of sanding that a bat will play differently?

Sometimes after re-oiling a bat, it could do with knocking in again, as the oil can soften the top layer. It'll make the bat feel 'fresh' as though it needs knocking in. Just a quick going over with a mallet usually fixes it or a couple of good nets with an old ball.

I doubt it, but haven't used yet.  Knocks up better than ever though...
