Is that THE Bradford League? I have a friend who plays in it. He says it's quite different to some of the ECB premier leagues he's played in. Pitches not so great, and lots of wiley bowlers. As a batsmen, the hardest cricket he's player (and he's a minor counties player with a list -a man of the match award hanging up in his house)

Bradford League has a big reputation and at 1st team level it's tough cricket, but a little blown out of proportion. Playing cricket in Leeds we hear alot about teams we play against have so and so from the Bradford League and for the most part they aren't anything special (but all get paid alot). For gods sake I bowled some guy neck and crop last Saturday who plays in the Bradford League lol

Not played on any Bradford League decks but I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't great, I don't think some of the setups are as good as the Airewharfe teams (Leeds) or ECB Premier Leagues. If he's played Minor Counties then he'll be fine, just choose a decent deck to play home games on. Out of interest, why Bradford League? Plenty of decent leagues in West Yorkshire.

Seriously, wouldn't be surprised if alot of asian 1st class players come over to Bradford League to play. I've known 1 or 2.

be tempted to do the extra 10 mins and get a club in Leeds lol Thought about the Huddersfield/Halifax Leagues, even closer to Manchester and pretty competitive level of cricket. Or have you signed for someone?

I play in the Huddersfield league and have lots on mates in the Bradford, alot of money gets spent but the quality of wickets are poor. Must say there is quite a few of first class players or ex in the Bradford league! Which club you signing for?

Bradford league used to have a rep as the best in the UK when I was back home, but thats 15 years ago now and I always suspected that some of that rep was self promotion on a massive scale.  We were in the York Senior and the standard differential between us and Bradford League clubs when we played them in cups was not massive, though they did tend to get the best pros, and to pay more players than any other league I'd seen until getting down South.

From what I hear, the Yorkshire Premier has taken a few players away, certainly in terms of the lads with county aspirations, and my brother swears blind that the A/W has improved markedly in the last decade, though that could have a lot to do with him playing in it!  (his views, not the standard!)
