brand advertising
« on: April 28, 2012, 08:24:32 AM »

On the back of the vintage adverts in the old wisdens I found I was wondering what is the best advert for cricket equipment you have seen is.

traditionally it will be the batsman saluting the crowd for scoring his hundred.

not much better than Sachin looking to the sky with pictures and bat (and branding) in all the papers.

but not everyone can afford Sachin or the likes.

so what other ideas have you seen or thought about?

Fattus offering his backside as a billboard was a good idea I thought

The first cricket box was used in 1874.  The first cricket helmet was introduced in 1974. So, it took 100 years for men to twig that their brains were also worth protecting.

way too expensive for most brands, plus there are fears of over exposure.

Hey there! Down 2" on the Fattus waistline now (due to an unfortunate vomiting bug last week). In any case, my bottom has been described as 'pert'.

I would however consider sponsoring the right brand upon my bottom.

No, seriously - I would.............................................

Limits the amount of people that could see it though. There's a reason that embarrassing bodies is shown after the watershed lol ;)
