Taping an oiled bat
«

Just sorting out a wet weather bat for this weekend (don't wanna ruin the scoop!). I've sanded it all down. Glued some small cracks and oiled it. How long would you say to wait til fibreglass tape will stick properly to the blade? In the past it's just fallen off. The bat was oiled last Thursday if that helps.
Cheers

should be fine after 24 hours. you can always give the areas your putting the tape on a very light sand to help make it stick. can always touch those areas in afterwards with oil when the tape has stuck properly

Try a little bit of tape and see if it sticks, and if it does take the little piece off and then put the tape where you want to

Had to use a really fine sanding block on the edges but other than that it was fine. Thanks.
