1st league game in 3 years
« on: May 20, 2012, 09:07:10 AM »

Played my first 50 over game in 3 years yesterday. Was a little nervous as it was my debut for my new club but it went well, managed to take 3 for 27 off 10 overs. Did not get to bat as we got the 147 needed with only 3 down. Good thing to as my body started to cramp up.

Today my body really hurts, legs, butt and lower back.. Anybody got any tips to over come this after a game?

So how did you all get on yesterday?? Any big scores as scored?

Frank, apologies here as it's a case of closing the stable door after the horse has bolted, but to assist ageing bodies with the rigours of a days cricket the 40+ guys on my team all swear by taking ibuprofen before the game.

For after the event I've always found that a hot bath works + a massage from the missus!

Hot bath, Deep Heat (mind your plums) and Gentle Stretching.

Your muscles will be filled with lactic acid as I assume from your report you didn't warm down. You need to get the blood pumping through the muscles again, either a walk to the shop for a paper or a stroll with the missus. Will ache but is the only way to get things moving gently again.

Hope this helps
