Ballistic 5000
« on: May 15, 2009, 06:55:37 PM »

I went to Vsports today to try a few sets of wicket keeping gloves... Firstly the Gray Nicholls Xiphos, like the ones Dinesh Ramdin uses, were an absolutely dreadful feel in my opinion!! The best fit were the Puma Ballistic 5000s, but the gel palms are quite solid, I'm not sure if the ball will sting a bit with them on. The slazenger Elite Pro Extreme were also very good I thought, they have the opposite feel to the Pumas, with the slazenger gloves being a lot more free and easy to manipulate! I do not know what to do, as I bought a pair of pumas a few years ago and are still using them now, and I have been very disappointed by their performance. They are good aesthetically, but they sting a little too much

i would go with the slazengers, a mate of mine has them and they can make a bad keeper like me look good as they are so supple. and they look great :D
