having been a keeper for many years and at a reasonable level I got hit in the side of the head a little over a year ago. It was the first time and could have been worse if i'd not turned my head in time. Dont remember the rest of the game but I aparently carried on with a helmet on.

Since then I 'keep with one on all the time (when stood up of course). I'd recommend this to anyone, its not big or clever looking like youve boxed 12 rounds with a heavyweight.

Glasses, wore them in the field but never when keeping, after what happened this week I've already contemplated wearing them along with the lid...I have a family and if something like that happened to me I'd be having a lengthy time of work....not worth er risk guys!

If the ball hits the glasses, surely this would case the lenses to splinter into your eyes?

Shouldn't do, being plastic. Would assume they'd develop the plastic to make sure it didn't splinter in such a way as to be dangerous

teeth are far to valuable , im not throwing away 2 years of pain in braces to have a cricket ball smash them out

been hit in the face before and it heals, or sometimes doesnt even hurt that much

Not a keeper myself, but I used to wear glasses when playing, so I would have always worn a helmet, whether I was batting or giving keeping a go. Even though I now wear contacts to play, I would still wear a helmet if I were a keeper, and after seeing what happened to Boucher, I would consider wearing sunglasses with that too!

Not from cricket but I'm unfortunate enough to have one of my front teeth knocked out.

Costing me �650 quid this year, rather wear a helmet personally.
